In many ways, the new rain barrel is a responsible choice. Zinc occurs naturally in rocks, soil and water. The material is dependable, long-lasting, recyclable, and has a low CO2 footprint. Furthermore, zinc requires little to no upkeep. We also paid great attention to the practical elements of designing our rain barrel, which had been on our wish list for some time.
The rain barrel also provides the following benefits:
- A grid covers the top of the rain barrel to prevent leaves and animals from falling in.
- The rain bucket can hold up to 95L / 25 gal of water.
- Reduces the run-off of excess rainwater
- Includes raised tap, where watering cans or buckets fit under easily
- Short metal drainpipe (with intermediate valve) included
The metal drainpipe included with the Rain Water Tank is also purchasable separately. This attachment with a drain valve (for between or beneath the main drainpipe) guarantees that water flows into the barrel, and it can also be simply converted once full. The drain flap is also fitted with a tiny grid to prevent leaves from piling in front of it.
