What is Polyresin / Polystone ?
Our garden statues look like they are made of wood or stone. However, they are moulded and made of polyresin. Polyresin is a mix of crushed stone and liquid synthetic resin.
How are the statues made?
Making the polyresin sculptures is a truly authentic craftsmanship and consists of several steps. First the mixture is made. This is then poured into a rubber mould. After hardening, the first part of the sculpture is removed from the mould. After this the sharp protrusions are removed, the sculpture is sanded and then polished.
The sculpture is then painted by hand, dried and polished again.
Benefits of Polyresin
Polyresin is extremely strong, weatherproof and colourfast, yet it is advised to move the sculptures in the winter or in heavy autumn storms.
