Duck nesting basket

This duck basket is a safe nesting place and a perfect shelter for Mallards, Common Pochards and Common Moorhens. Place the basket early in the year, since ducks start building their nests in February. Place the basket between three or four sturdy long poles in the water no higher than 1 meter (3.3 ft) in relation to the water surface. Alternatively, the basket can be placed on the edge of the water in thick vegetation. Mallards breed from March through June and usually lay between seven and eleven eggs. The ducklings are precocial birds and will leave the nest on the first day. Clean the duck basket after breeding season is over.
