Provides the blue tit with a good nesting place for the winter. The box is also very useful for crested tits, marsh tits, willow tits and coal tits when they are looking for shelter. Place the nest box in a quiet, somewhat sheltered location. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or on the side most exposed to rain, but ensure an unobstructed flight path for the bird.
